Why should you take ZMA?
Testosterone is a natural hormone which has a critical role in the development and growth of muscle tissue. It declines naturally with age in line with a similar decline in lean muscle mass seen across the same period. Maintaining or increasing Testosterone levels will promote the growth of lean muscle mass and strength.
Does ZMA work?
ZMA has been clinically proven to work and is widely accepted as one of the most potent supplements for increased strength and muscle gain.
Of the studies done, the most widely known was the 1999 study undertaken on NCAA Football players in the US. In that study players were split into those taking ZMA and those taking none for an 8 week spring training program. All participants ceased taking all other supplements during the study. The study found that those who took the ZMA tablets showed significantly greater increases in muscle strength when compared to those who did not.
Have ZMA formulations changed?
EU food legislation changed the forms of Magnesium allowed resulting in Magnesium Aspartate being no longer permitted. USN ZMA is unique in using Magnesium Citrate and Oxide which provide the full benefits of Magnesium absorption but without the side effects of Magnesium Citrate only formulations.* You may find cheaper ZMA on the market but you won’t find a higher quality ZMA.
What is in it?
• Zinc (As Monomethionine & Aspartate)
• Magnesium (As Citrate & Oxide)
• Vitamin B6 (As Pyridoxin HCL)
When to take ZMA
Take on an empty stomach ideally before bed. Avoid consuming with milk or other dairy products as the calcium will interfere with the absorption.
* Magnesium Citrate on its own is a laxative so beware of formulations with this as the only source of Magnesium! |
