James began weight training at 17. He progressed quickly and started Powerlifting.
Over
the years Fennelly won a number of Junior titles and holds the Junior World Deadlift record of 320kg. He
trained solid for six years concentrating on Powerlifting and then branching into Strongman.
In
his first Stongman competition James came second (Ireland's Novice Strongman). This gave him the
drive to develop in this sport. In 2008 Fennelly qualified for the UK's Strongest man and was placed fifth
in his first major show.
This year he won Rep. of Ireland Strongest man and hopes to continue his
success in the coming month and years. |
