Irelands Strongest Man 2009
Irelands Strongest Man 2010

James began weight training at 17. He progressed quickly and started Powerlifting.

Over the years Fennelly won a number of Junior titles and holds the Junior World Deadlift record of 320kg. He trained solid for six years concentrating on Powerlifting and then branching into Strongman.

In his first Stongman competition James came second (Ireland's Novice Strongman). This gave him the drive to develop in this sport. In 2008 Fennelly qualified for the UK's Strongest man and was placed fifth in his first major show.

This year he won Rep. of Ireland Strongest man and hopes to continue his success in the coming month and years.

No.1 USN Supplement & Why?

IGF Pure Protein. Delivers maximum results - helps me with muscle recovery and muscle mass.
Muscle Fuel Anabolic: Aids muscle growth and assists me with recovery straight after training, just when I need it.
BCAA Amino Acids. Again these work very well with my other USN supplements for overall mass gain and recovery and strength.

Pre Training Routine

1 hour before training take my IGF Pure Protein and I repeat this throughout the day, at three hour intervals taking up to five times per day. 30 minutes before training I take my BCAA Amino acids. This is combined with a high carb diet.

Average Training Day

I train five days per week, four times in the gym, weight training and once doing event/ Strongman training. My weight routine involves four week cycles starting on 8 reps for week 1, and by week 4 I'm down to 2 reps. I keep sets at around 6-9 sets per body part and train no more three body parts per session.
